Castellina and Radda

After all the excitement of the first four days, we decided to make day five a chill day. We woke up a little later than usual and then went into our town - Castellina in Chianti - with Cara's parents. For lunch. we shared a ham and mushroom pizza and Cara's parents shared a sausage and pepper pizza. Delicious as usual! After lunch we went to a small town about 20 minutes away from ours called Radda in Chianti. This town was a little bigger and it had cheaper prices on the olive wood products Cara's mom wanted to buy. While in Radda, we also stopped at a cafĂ© for some cocktails. Cara had a “bellini" an Jamie had a “spritz”. After Radda, we went back to Castellina and visited some more shops and stopped at a produce stand to buy vegetables for dinner. We went back to our villa and Cara's mom and aunt Kristine prepared a great meal of meats, cheeses, olives, bread, salads and pastas. Everyone, including my aunt’s cousins who were also staying with us, joined in for dinner. After dinner, it was time to start packing up to leave Tuscany.

Since we didn't do much this day, here are a few pictures of the villa:

  1. Bellinis are delicious. Both of those drinks are Venetian, actually.

This place looks so beautiful and your chill day sounds very consistent with the Italian lifestyle. =)
