For our second day in France with Jane and Georgia, we went to a town called Aix-en-Provence. In the Provence area of France, they make a special type of candy called Calissons. They’re little chewy cream candies with a hard white outside shell and they’re so good! We went to the store that is famous for making them and got some to take home. Hopefully they will make it back to America without us eating them all. We then walked around and did some more shopping. There were so many bakeries with delicious pastries and breads. We got some cookies at one of them, a sugar cookie and a cookie with a jelly pink heart in the center.
We stopped at a takeaway Greek restaurant, and got some humus-type spread, pitas, olives, and other traditional Greek food and ate it in a square nearby. Then we went to our favorite store so far, La Cure Gourmand. It was like walking into a scene at the candy shop from Harry Potter, only the candy was real! The walls were covered with cookies and candies. We had a lot of fun in this store, but we held back and only bought 10 euros worth of stuff.
